MODEL INDEX // ALL MACHINES
PICK YOUR MACHINE.
Five real models, all free, all no-signup. Every machine answers through a live streaming backend — pick one and talk.
05/5 ONLINE
The default machine — fast and general, for everyday questions, writing, and translation.
The reasoning and code machine — debugging, math, and step-by-step thinking.
The light machine — quick answers for small questions, definitions, conversions, short summaries.
The open-weights machine — general chat with an open model, nothing to self-host.
WHICH MACHINE SHOULD YOU PICK?
All five are free and none of them ask you to sign in, so picking is only about fit. These characterizations come from running the models, not from reading their marketing.
- EVERYDAY QUESTIONS, WRITING, QUICK EXPLANATIONS
- Gemini 3.6 Flash. It is the default machine for a reason — fast, general, and steady across the broad middle of what people actually ask an AI.
- CODE AND STEP-BY-STEP REASONING
- DeepSeek V4 Flash. It holds a chain of reasoning together better than the Flash-class models and is the one to reach for when the answer has to be correct rather than quick.
- YOU WANT THE ANSWER MORE THAN YOU WANT DEPTH
- Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite. The lightest and fastest on the board; ideal for lookups, rewrites and quick sanity checks.
- CHINESE, OR MIXED-LANGUAGE PROMPTS
- GLM 5.2. The strongest bilingual footing here — Chinese prompts, mixed-language questions, and translation that keeps its register. In our own sampling it also answered every test call, faster than a second on average.
- YOU PREFER AN OPENLY RELEASED MODEL
- Gemma 4 31B. Open weights, no self-hosting required. Be aware it is the least stable of the five: in end-to-end sampling it failed roughly half its calls, so retry or switch machines if it stalls.
Switching machines mid-conversation keeps your transcript, so there is no cost to trying another one. Reliability and latency figures above come from our own end-to-end sampling, not from vendor material.
